August 23, 2025 – Haven reunited with dog friends

Haven reunited with his dog friends he lived with this summer.

July 17, 2025 – Making new dog friends with new roommates

Adoptable Haven is so sweet with the two pups I’m fostering for another rescue. They were abandoned and are very shy. Although Haven can be pushy with my dogs, he is gentle and sweet with these dear pups.

July 14, 2025 – Chase/Ball, Cats, and Leash Walking

Haven has settled into our house and routine.  He enjoys playing in the yard with the other dogs.  He chases them when they chase the ball but does not seem interested in retrieving the ball himself.  He doesn’t read “dog” as well as some and occasionally annoys my dogs by getting in their space (barking in their faces) and not realizing that it frustrates them.

He has started settling in the house now after having been here a little while which is great.  Haven and I have started working on leash manners because he is a terrible puller.  His previous owner commented on this and said it improves as the walk goes on and he calms down.

So far we have only had one incident with him chasing a cat and it was when a cat ran and he gave chase.  The cat was annoyed and is now wary of him but Haven doesn’t seem particularly excited about the cats so I think he would be fine with dog savvy cats that don’t run.

Haven is housebroken and has not had any accidents in our house.  He is used to being loose in the house but we have crated him without an issue.  Haven is a smart, fairly reactive guy who needs more mental and physical stimulation than his previous owners were able to give.

July 12, 2025 – Haven is doing well and looking for his forever home

Haven is such an enjoyable dog. He has adjusted to his crate in his foster home for feeding and sleeping. He was crated as a puppy but not as an adult at his original home. His recall is good. It is reported that he generally does well at dog parks but can get overly excited meeting new dogs. The introductions and life at his foster home with five dogs is still going well. Haven continues to not have interest in goats. He will chase cats if they run but he doesn’t seem to be too interested in them if they are confident around him.

June 10, 2025 – Haven is an easy dog to live with

Adoptable Haven is looking for a home where he can get plenty of exercise and spend quality time with his people. He loves running and playing in the yard but is not interested in retrieving balls. He fits in with our pack pretty well but does occasionally get “told off” for being too “in the faces” of the other dogs. He is an easy guy to live with and has now learned to settle.

June 28, 2025 – Haven is adjusting well to living with dogs

Haven is 1/2 Border Collie, 1/4 Cattle Dog, and 1/4 Australian Shepherd. Haven was an only dog before coming to WBCR but he fitting into the pack at his foster home pretty well. He enjoys running in the yard with the other dogs, going for walks and spending time near his humans.

June 14, 2025 – Haven arrives into rescue

Haven is a 5 year old neutered male who just arrived into rescue from his original owner. More updates soon.
