You must complete an adoption application with WBCR before we will consider you for one of our Border Collies (under the “adoption” link). Then go to our PayPal link to pay the $15.00 application fee. One of our volunteers will check your references, and then another will come to your home to meet you & your family in person before the board will vote on your application. If you are approved, we will arrange a time for you to meet the dog(s) you are interested in. If you decide he/she is perfect for you and the board agrees, we will schedule a day for you to pick up your Border Collie, sign adoption paperwork, and pay the $350 minimum adoption donation. This whole process may take a month or more, as all WBCR members are volunteers and we’re committed to making a perfect match for our border collies. Thanks for your patience!

Percy is a 10-month-old male Border Collie who LOVES people and other dogs. He loves to give kisses, play fetch and tug-of-war, and wrestle. He’s not been exposed to cats or kids, so we don’t know how he’d be with them. We do know that he likes to jump on people and would knock a small child to the ground in doing so. We’re working on it! Percy does know sit, down, and wait, and he readily goes into his crate when asked. He’s not afraid of anything so far. He’s curious and bold, venturing alone into our basement just to check things out as soon as he arrived.
Percy came to us because his first family got him without getting their landlord’s permission to have a dog. You might be able to hide a small, lazy dog from your landlord, but not this brilliant, energetic bundle of handsome! Percy came without any vetting, so he is heading to the doctor this week for vaccinations and will be neutered the following week. Keeping this guy quiet & calm after surgery is going to be tricky! Thank goodness mental stimulation is tiring, too!
