Return to Our Foster Dogs

Heru – Adopted

You must complete an adoption application with WBCR before we will consider you for one of our Border Collies (under the “adoption” link). Then go to our PayPal link to pay the $15.00 application fee. One of our volunteers will check your references, and then another will come to your home to meet you & your family in person before the board will vote on your application. If you are approved, we will arrange a time for you to meet the dog(s) you are interested in. If you decide he/she is perfect for you and the board agrees, we will schedule a day for you to pick up your Border Collie, sign adoption paperwork, and pay the $350 minimum adoption donation. This whole process may take a month or more, as all WBCR members are volunteers and we’re committed to making a perfect match for our border collies. Thanks for your patience!

ADOPTION PENDING!!!!

August 7, 2022

Heru is a 7 month old, blue merle neutered male.  He and his littermate Norma came into rescue together from a nice family who rescued them from a bad situation but have found themselves unable to provide the exercise and mental stimulation that they need.  They sadly gave them to the rescue so that they could have a better life.
Heru is named after an Egyptian Sky God.  Heru has very unique looking eyes and the God Heru’s right eye was the sun or morning star, representing power and quintessence and his left eye was the moon or evening star, representing healing.
Heru is very sweet and loves to meet new people.  He also has been happy to meet dogs and fits well into my pack.  He has shown interest in my goats but is able to be called away from the fence the majority of the time.
Heru knows some basic commands including: sit, down, come, kennel, and shake. We are working on leave it, wait and sitting before coming in and out of his kennel or the door to the back yard.  He is a smart guy who is food and praise motivated.
He is housebroken though we do make sure to take him out if there has been wrestling going on.  He can forget himself if he is playing really hard.  He goes potty on command and has never had an accident in his crate.
Heru is used to being crated at night and when we are not home. He is comfortable in his crate and happily goes in and is quiet.
This handsome, sweet boy is going to be a great addition to some lucky family.  He will be available for adoption in about 3 weeks.
