↑ Return to Our Foster Dogs

Charlie

You must complete an adoption application with WBCR before we will consider you for one of our Border Collies (under the “adoption” link). Then go to our PayPal link to pay the $15.00 application fee. One of our volunteers will check your references, and then another will come to your home to meet you & your family in person before the board will vote on your application. If you are approved, we will arrange a time for you to meet the dog(s) you are interested in. If you decide he/she is perfect for you and the board agrees, we will schedule a day for you to pick up your Border Collie, sign adoption paperwork, and pay the $350 minimum adoption donation. This whole process may take a month or more, as all WBCR members are volunteers and we’re committed to making a perfect match for our border collies. Thanks for your patience!

Charlie is looking for his forever family. Could it be yours?

Charlie’s previous owners noted that he was uncomfortable around small children so we are only recommending families with no children or older children apply for him.

Charlie is an energetic, young BC. He has settled nicely into his foster home. He is potty and crate trained. When Charlie needs to go out he will tell you with a look or a bark. Charlie is good in the car, too! He loves playing ball, getting belly rubs, and chewing on an occasional bone. This good boy has not chewed anything else. A couple of socks have been found in different areas of the house, but they have no been chewed.

We’re working on being consistent with commands and having this little cutie wait patiently for what comes next. He loves getting attention. Charlie knows his name, come, and shake. His sit and down are (according to Charlie) sometimes merely suggestions. He will give in after a bit. Sometimes I ask, “What are you supposed to do?” which he will almost always respond to.

Charlie is overly enthusiastic about greeting us when we come in the door. He also is extremely affectionate. We are working on toning down both of these. Charlie will bark if he doesn’t know you, but warms-up quickly, as he LOVES people. Charlie is a great dog who will win your heart (and then some)!

Charlie is a 9 month old male Border Collie that came into WBCR last weekend. His former owners loved him very much but as their schedules recently changed decided it was best for Charlie to go to a home that is able to spend more time training and working with him.

Charlie is toy motivated. He loves playing ball and will bring it right back to you. He will follow you around the house just in case you get distracted by something else and “forget” to keep throwing.

Charlie is wary of strangers but did warm up quickly to his new foster family who is excited to get to know him better. Stay tuned for Charlie’s Adventures.
